The Sea-Level process helped align our management team to specific metrics and operational procedures that resulted in improved efficiencies, improved customer satisfaction and improved net profit. We tailored the implementation to make it our own. David, who served as our coach, was fantastic at challenging the team and leading us through discussions to get everyone on the same page. We then dug into the work of writing better processes and measuring the things that mattered. The results speak for themselves. We achieved a consistent 20%+ net EBITDA (previously hovered between 10% and 15%). Timing being everything, we implemented a majority of these improvements in Q1 of 2020. We have been training our Service Manager for over 6 months in the Sea-Level process to help our organization. This week he resigned. This could have been a devastating blow and setback for us if it had not been for Sea-Level. Since my partner and I are fully engaged with creation of process documents and the Service Manager didn’t create the documents alone, we are confident that we can continue the process. We are also very confident that when we hire a new Service Manager he/she will be trained in a much shorter period of time. My partner and I would like to specifically thank our coach Ron Losefsky for his support and guidance as we get our operations on track. We also want to thank the Sea-Level organization for putting together such a logical, turn-key system to improve our operations. We know that we have many more months to go before our full implementation is complete but based on the benefits that we have already received we are extremely excited for the outcome.
I wanted to take a moment to thank Jay, you, and your team for all the help and coaching Jay and Sea-Level have given Hilltop over the past 4 years. We have grown from one city to three cities and tripled our revenue in that time. I don’t think we could have done it without Jay’s help along the way. He kept us focused on process and building an infrastructure that could support us as we grew. Jay knew when to bring in other members of the Sea-Level team, like Parker, when needed and get us over the hump on difficult topics. Attaining our SOC 2 Type 1 compliance was a big accomplishment for EasyIT. During this multi-month process, we came to really appreciate all the documented processes we have in place.
